What’s going on with WandaVision?!
The last two weeks have had some big reveals for WandaVision fans. And there is a lot of things we could discuss.
We could talk about Monica Rambeau, who just began to demonstrate superpowers. Wait, she did? Is she a known superhero? Well, yes, she is. She has been a very popular superhero in the Marvel Comics for years, dawning several names Photon, Pulsar, and even for a time Captain Marvel (oh, that’s a much larger story). Still, I am guessing her name will be Spectrum. But that’s not what we are going to discuss here.
We could delve deeper into SWORD, the counterterrorism and intelligence agency. Its purpose is to deal with extraterrestrial threats to world security and is the space-based counterpart of S.H.I.E.L.D., which deals with local threats to the world. And why they would have an interest in the town of Westview. But that’s not what we are going to discuss either.
We could speculate on the “Hex”; the idyllic world Wanda has created. And how this world seems to be a salve on a much larger wound, but one that is ultimately more harmful than good. But we won’t go into that either.
We are going to focus on only four topics. Each of these topics will have its own post so follow the links below to find them.
First, we see the return of Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver, or uh no, wait… isn’t that Peter Maximoff? You know the quicksilver from the Fox X-men movies? Well kinda.
Let’s talk about Peter or Pietro or Quicksilver or Whatever
Second Vision, who now is questioning everything about the world he exists in, has realized that this fake world he is living in is created and run by Wanda.
What about Vision?
Third, we learn more about Wanda and Vision’s neighbor, Agnes.
Who is Agnes?
And the fourth, oh let’s just leave this here:
A Nexus for the rest of us!
So here is the point. If you began watching WandaVision saying to yourself, “This is stupid, where are they taking this?” Or you have struggled to see where the mind-bending stories may lead. Guess what? We have two episodes left, and everything that Wanda has been projecting around her and her family is about to unravel. With the unraveling, a new Marvel era will unfold, one that exists both in episodic fashion via Disney+ and in the upcoming feature films.
To quote one of my favorite rides at the Disney Parks, BigThunder Mountain, “Howdy partners! For your safety, remain seated with your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the train — and be sure to watch your kids. If any of you folks are wearin’ hats or glasses, best remove ‘em — ’cause this here’s the wildest ride” in the multiverse!
