I'm confused by your writing. It took this whole article for you to express that, what you do not like is the "Fad" stoics. (I apologize for the negative tone.)

But what seems odd is that you complain about the mischaracterizations and exploitation (of what otherwise is a very simple philosophy) and add your own mischaracterizations and exploit Stoicism for your own agenda.

I do not claim to be a stoic, nor do I have a dog in this fight any other way. But it seems you could have dispelled the evils of the exploitation of Stoicism in a much more effective way. Yet you chose to rant, serving only those who already feel the same way.
